Fred Stringham –President of Capital First Mortgage LLC in Fairfield, New Jersey – is rapidly approaching two decades of helping his clients achieve their dream of homeownership. Fred’s honest approach – coupled with his inherent integrity – has resulted in a thriving business that is based largely upon word of mouth from satisfied clients and Realtor partners.
Fred, originally intended to work in the technology field. “I have a computer degree,” he explains, “but I graduated at around the same time as the tech crash. A friend of mine was doing mortgages, so I went an interviewed with him and got the job. The rest is history. It definitely worked out for the best.”

There are many reasons for Fred’s continuing success, and he points to two in particular when asked to name some. “I pride myself on being honest,” he says. “Honesty is probably the biggest part of what I do. Another reason is my availability. Every one of my clients is given my cell phone number, as does my referral source. Even if it’s 10 pm on a weekday, if my client has a question they need answered, I’m available.” Fred’s affability and experience level has also played a large role in his – and his company’s – prosperity. “I always take the time and make the effort

Their excitement and the smiles on their faces, how elated they are…that’s the part I enjoy the most.”
When he’s not working, Fred enjoys nothing more than spending time with his wife and his four children, engaging in outdoor activities. He also gives back to his community by coaching his children’s sports teams.
Looking to the future, Fred’s main plan is to continue growing his business and offering his clients the same exceptional customer service that has become his calling card. “The next step I’d like to take is to become a correspondent lender, and grow a little bit,” he says. “I’m just waiting until my kids are grown a little more, but it’s something I’m looking forward to doing. The idea is very exciting.”
